Chessie

Chessie is the newest representative from Pet Haven at Chuck and Don's in Highland Park in St. Paul.

Chessie is a good natured, out-going girl. She has the markings of a snowshoe siamese but is not a pure breed. Her markings are unique and as cute as her personality.

Chessie enjoys toys, gets along with another cat, likes to cuddle and snuggle and sleep on the bed.

Stop by and say hello to Chessie. If you are interested in learning more about her and adopting her or another Pet Haven cat, go to this link.

We have 2 adoptions this weekend, both at the PetCo in Richfield at 66th and Lyndale Ave. S. Saturday from 11-1, Sunday from 1-3 p.m.

Happy Tails -

Here's a picture of Dahlia settled into her new home, having found a new buddy to snooze with!

Momma Bear had several names in her foster home with Pet Haven. She has a new home, a new name and is enjoying life with her new owner!

Here is what her owner has to say about life with Ami -

Yes she, or should I say we, are doing great! I've changed her name to Amèlie, Ami for short. She has been doing very well at adjusting to my house. She loves playing, exploring, getting attention, eating, trying to converse haha. We're having fun.

A valentine for you

Tia was named Half-Pint when she came to Pet Haven about 8 yrs. ago as a stray. She'd had kittens and was guessed to be between one and two years old. Half-Pint was adopted in 2004 and when her owner died, she returned to Pet Haven this winter.

She has since had her teeth cleaned, an exam by a vet and her vaccinations updated. She is working on her diet a little and is looking for a new home.

She gets along well with another cat, is people friendly and likes to play with the toys in the foster home too.

And in the category of brown tabby and white and around 2 yrs. of age -

Star! She loves to snuggle with another cat and gets lap time with her fosters too.

Zoe - one of those cute little 'cow cats'!

Hudson - a gray and white clown - a smaller boy, not yet 2 yrs. old. He's all about toys.

Wilma - a little lady who enjoys chasing pieces of her food. She is an excellent 'hunter'! Yes, there is a story behind this trick!

These and other Pet Haven cats are looking for homes. You'll find the cat adoption application on that page too!

Stop by Chuck and Don's in Highland to see these 2 lovers!

Cheveyo is healing -

Chevy is making great progress. His leg is becoming stronger and, as you can see, lounging in catnip is a favorite activity of his.

Here's what his foster has to say:

He is moving around really well. He's going up and down the steps and can get up on the couch to have a rest. He was sleeping on the table today right next to where I was doing my homework. He always is the first one to roll around on the cat nip when I put it down, as well.

Thank you for making a donation to help cover the costs of his surgery!

Stop by Chuck and Don's in Highland to see brothers Quincy and Aiden who hope to be adopted together.

Our next adoption is Sunday, Feb. 19, from 1-3 p.m. at the PetCo in Richfield at 66th and Lyndale Ave. S.

Second and third chances -

Dirks had had an owner at one time but was returned to a shelter, when he came to Pet Haven he found another home. That home had job loss problems and he was returned once again.

Back to a foster home where he got along well with another foster cat at first - but soon the other guy became a bully and Dirks wasn't up to the challenge of telling him, "NO!"

Dirks went to another foster home with 2 very accepting cats and now has found another cat buddy to play and snuggle with!

Just thought we'd share this picture from last night -- as you can see, Dirks and Sensei are the best of pals.

Dirks is getting along well -- we notice that he loves to climb up as high as possible on bookshelves, dressers, etc. Maybe he misses his cat tower -- we'll probably buy one when we move, as we have no room for any extra furniture right now! Dirks is a very likeable little guy, and apparently Sensei thinks so too.

Best wishes --

Roberta, Sean, Dirks, and Sensei

Dirks is the buff fellow, Sensei the gray and white.

Sometimes we all need a second chance, or a third or a fourth. The more kind and caring people a cat, dog or person meets just expands trust and keeps it more open to another family.
